Chungnam National University (CNU) has established CNU center at University of California, Riverside. CNU Center will take part of international strategy for CNU targeting at becoming one of the top 100 universities in the world. CNU Center will be used to provide the collection of U.S. education, research, and administration for residents. Prof. Hong, Kimin will be responsible for the center management. It is expected that CNU would play a crucial role in establishing a campus in LA.

There was an opening ceremony on Jan 12^th, 2010. CNU President Song, International Affairs Director Cho, LA Alumnae President Oh, and UCR Vice President Rabenstein attended. Before the ceremony, CNU President Song discussed ways of extending exchange programs. After the ceremony, there was a fund raising event for development of the center.

UCR was established in 1954 and well-known for excellent research especially in the area of agriculture. CNU has sent 30 students since both universities have agreed on MOU in 2001.
